I am using LiveZilla Chat for my websites, and it works fine for me. The free version is quiet enough to manage your chats and message from various clients.

I've never tried that, I use to use livezilla, I use the free https://livehelperchat.com/ now. Has a lot of features that I like. It's a self hosted solution and that is important to me.

I agree about livezilla and being to be self hosted, just something I stumbled upon.
