I have seen a couple hosts using forums as a way of communication and support, what are your thought?

Why not? If you have a decent customer base and a portion of those are willing to use your forum it might just be a good idea to do so.

Our forums are used by a small percentage of our clients but nonetheless, it does get used so we will be keeping it.

I tend to agree with you, I think forums can help your clients with designs, ideas and even support at times.

Do you think its ok to use them as a support? I don't see a problem with it as long as the forum is moderated properly.
